Rederieaktiebolaget Eckerö, established on 2 March 1961 to provide car ferry services between Sweden, Finland and Åland, is the parent company of the Eckerö Group. Currently, the Group operates five business divisions: Eckerö Linjen, Eckerö Line, Birka Cruises, Birka Cargo, and Williams Buss.

Eckerö Linjen operates car ferry services between Eckerö, Åland, and Grisslehamn, Sweden, with its flagship M/S Eckerö. Under the Eckerö Linjen brand, the Group’s sales departments in Grisslehamn and Eckerö market all Ålandian tourist products from overnight stays to a range of package tours, group trips and conference services.

On the Finnish market, Eckerö Linjen Ab uses the brand name Ålandsresor. The sales department in Mariehamn offers a complete range of Ålandian tourist services from hotel stays, cabins and package tours to group trips and international conventions.

The travel agency Ålandsresor Resebyrå is Eckerö Linjen Ab’s brand for trips from Åland. An IATA authorized agency, it works in close cooperation with Scandinavian airline companies and tour operators. Additionally, Ålandsresor Resebyrå offers Williams Buss charter and group trips, cruises onboard M/S Birka Paradise and Eckerö Linjen’s package tours to Sweden.

Williams Buss has been a subsidiary since the year 1990. The company operates an extensive fleet of high-quality coaches and local buses. Williams Buss provides coaches for sightseeing tours on Åland and operates an active charter business across Europe. Williams Buss trips are marketed by Ålandsresor Resebyrå.

Eckerö Line operates a car ferry service between Helsinki and Tallinn carrying both cargo and passengers to a regular schedule. Eckerö Line also offers a comprehensive range of travel services in Estonia.

Birka Cruises based in Stockholm offers cruises onboard M/S Birka Paradise, the only out-and-out cruiser with regular departures from Stockholm.

Birka Cargo operates a ro-ro service from Finland and Sweden to ports in mainland Europe. Operations are based on long-term charters for the Finnish and Swedish export industry.
